Uncommon Trivia gives you seven open questions every day. Each question has a 25-second timer and one guess only — there is no going back once you submit, and no points if the timer runs out before you answer.
Scoring rewards obscurity. Every correct answer in a category is ranked by how many people have looked it up on Wikipedia in the last few months, from most to least viewed. The most common answer in a category scores 10 points, the rarest correct answer scores 100, and everything else lands in between. Answer all seven questions with the rarest possible correct answer each time and you can reach a perfect 700.
Typing is forgiving. Your answer is checked in lowercase, with accents and punctuation removed, so "Sao Paulo" and "São Paulo!" count the same. If your answer is at least five characters long, we also allow one small typo — a missing, extra, or swapped letter still counts, as long as it is not ambiguous with another answer in the same category.
A new puzzle unlocks for everyone at the same moment: 00:00 UTC. Every player in the world answers the exact same seven questions that day. Once you finish, you can copy a short summary of your score and an emoji bar showing how each question went, without giving away any answers.
Want to keep playing? Unlimited mode serves random questions any time you like, with the same rules, but those rounds never count toward your daily streak. Missed a day, or want to replay an old puzzle? The archive keeps every past daily puzzle available so you can go back and try it again.
Your stats — games played, average score, best score, and current streak — live only in your browser's local storage. We never see them, and nothing about how you played is ever uploaded anywhere.
